A new range of wines "Les Beauttés de Castigno"

Posted on: Wednesday, March 30, 2022
Its name is no accident. It is indeed on the “Beauttés” plot that the new range of light wines from Castigno has taken root. On these unique soils of the Hérault region, Marc Verstraete, the owner, and Clément Mengus, the vineyard manager, have created fresh, delicate wines with a wonderful aromatic finesse.
Château Castigno, Assignan Une nouvelle gamme de vins « Les Beauttés de Castigno »

In the vineyard, the tenets of biodynamic viticulture have enabled us to harvest beautiful grapes naturally. In the cellar, the gentle vinification process, with no additives other than sulphite in homeopathic doses, has produced extremely light extractions, almost infusions, on grapes that are not very sweet, in whole bunches or only slightly de-stemmed. The result in the bottle is light, easily digestible wines, bursting with fruity flavours and a complexity that stands out, above all, for its finesse. On tasting, the range is already a hit with the public, won over by its purity.

With two red wines, Bella Casta and Terra Casta, one orange wine – meaning a white wine made using skin maceration and vinified for five weeks in amphora – and, coming soon, a natural Muscat sparkling wine, Château Castigno has created a new range of easily accessible wines to suit any occasion. A summer wine to be opened as an aperitif and enjoyed over a barbecue or a delightful wine to be drunk for sheer pleasure. We love the sophisticated freshness of the "Beauttés de Castigno".
